Liz’s anthem Lighten Our Darkness was premiered at Coventry Cathedral in February 2022 in the Ivors Award-winning performance of When A Child Is A Witness - Requiem for Refugees. This anthem takes words from the Book of Common Prayer that are woven through with words and music composed by young asylum seekers living in Coventry.

Working together with Liz as the European Youth Music Refugee Choir the young people chose words meaning ‘Life’ and ‘Love’ in Tigrinya (a language from Eritrea), Kurdish and Arabic, to represent some of the languages spoken by the members of the group.
